Dear friends moved from New England to the southwest; the matriarch of the family commissioned me to paint a portrait of the house and then have four giclee prints on artist's paper to be framed for her children as Christmas gifts.  This was the home in which she and her late husband raised their family.

 

 My friend sent me several photographs of the front elevation of the house, including the top photograph.  She asked that I paint the house in a a winter scene with a holiday wreath on the door and a Christmas tree in the living room window.

Often, when I meet with a client for a home commission, I ask them, "What is your favorite place in the home?"  My friend told me that her favorite memories of the home she and her late husband custom built are the memories of Christmas when all their children were at home. Another client asked me to paint her back yard. Yet another asked for her front door. The client determines the direction of the work, the location of the painting, and the particulars.

Price is negotiable, depending on size and complexity. An 8x10 of shown houses would be $240.
